Create your own Rosin!
The Old Church is one of the very few coffeeshops that offer the use of a Rosin Press in Amsterdam. Completely free of charge!
Our rosin presses are very easy to use. You’re just a few steps away from creating your own rosin!
- First, you have to prepare your preferred bud. Use the “Loader” to create a puck by compressing 1-5 grams of flower. Place the material between the special parchment paper provided by the staff.
- Place the material on the center of the bottom plate.
- Hold the PRESS button until the plates press together. Once fully compressed, release the button. Now you have to wait until you see rosin seeping out from between the places. The process is complete when the flow of rosin stops., approximately 2 minutes. (This will vary with different temperatures)
- Push the RELEASE button to separate the plates. Reset the press using the RELEASE and PRESS buttons again, to achieve an additional grab at the material and maximize your yield.
- Allow the Rosin to cool for at least 5 minutes before handling. Ask the staff for a special tool to collect the rosin from the parchment paper.

Nothing affects the quality of your output more than the quality of your input.
Temperature, pressure and time are the other factors in play.
For Kief or Hash we recommend to use anywhere between 75° and
90° C
For Flower the ideal range is anywhere between 100° to 110° C
Start with a pressing time of ± 60 seconds for Kief & Hash, and around 40 seconds for Flower.
